1965-05-27 - Plan Commission - Minutes May 27, 1965 Buffalo Grove Village Hall MINJTES OF PLAN COMMISSION PRESENT: Ken Lewis, Alex Stasal, Ray Burbey, Norm Kortus, George Krug, Ed Fabish, John Hooper. Visitors: Gilbert Lee and John Rodek. Meeting called to order at S:15 P.M. Ray Burbey made the motion to accept the January 28, February 26, March 25 and April S minutes. Ken Lewis seconded it. All in favor. The commission studied the pre-annexation petition of a Mr. Marcus Schmidt which involved 7 acres at the southeast corner of Buffalo Grove Road and Route 83. He would like to have it zoned for a gas station and car wash and a B-3 planned commercial shopping center. The commission found that the area in question was contiguous to the Village and discussed the merits of the proposal. Mr. Schmidt realized that at present the sewer and water lines are some distance from the Village proper and that his intentions were not to develop and build for at least 4 or 5 years. Ray Burbey made the motion to hold a public hearing of the pre-annexation zoning request of Mr. Marcus Schmidt of the area at the southeast corner of Buffalo Grove Road and Rt. 83 to be held on July 22, 1965. Alex Stasal seconded it. All in favor. UNIT 7: In order to keep Unit 7 there is a final 147 lots to be approved by the commission. The area was discussed and Ed Fabish made the motion to approve the final plat of Unit 7 and waive the preliminary requirements. Ray Burbey seconded it. All in favor. - 1 - GILBERT J. LEE PETITION: Mr. Gilbert J. Lee of 193 Cottonwood Road, sub- mitted to the commission a request of variation of Village Ordinance 0-60-2 based on Section 7. He produced letters from adjoining neighbors stating that they would have no objection to his proposed fence. He stated his fence shall be wood construction made of 4" x 4n uprights not to emceed 14 feet in heighth; two 1" x 6" paralled rails not to exceed 10 feet in length and firmly fastened to each upright. The fence will be parallel to the sidewalk along St. Maryts Parkway and shall not be closer than 2 feet from the inside of the sidewalk. The fence will extend from the rear property line to a point even with the northwestern corner of the house. Another section shall ex- tend from the main section of the fence to the northwestern corner of the house. Norm Kortus made the motion to recommend the Village Board approve the zoning variation of _`r. Gilbert J. Lee of 193 Cottonwood Road, as presented in his submitted drawing and technical description, for the reason that it is not detrimental to the public health, wel- fare and safety. Ed Fabish seconded it. All in favor except Alex Stasal who voted no. Ed Fabish made the motion to adjourn. Alex Stasal seconded it. All in favor. Meeting adjourned at 10:15 P.M. Ed Fabish Sec. RE: Request of variation of Tillage ordinance 0.604 fencing ordinance, based on section seven (7). Following are spesifsatioas of proposed fence: `.I Fence shall be of all wood construction, consisting of 4" x 4P up44046e, not to exceed 4#•0", in height. Two 1" x 6" rails, not to exceed 101-0* in length shall be firmly fastened to each upright, parallel with the ground. There shall be two (2) gates, osb constructed of 2*x 4es, each hinged to swing inward. One gate shall be in the front section of said fence, the other to be placed approximately 151„Ow from rear property line. Fence shall be parallel to the sidewalk along St. Wary s Parkway, and shall not be closer than 2t•0* (two feet) from the inside of sidewalk. Fence shall extend from rear property line to a point even with the northwestern (front) corner of the house.
