The first item on the agenda was a presentation of what has
been done by the Lake County Planning Dept. on the Vernon Area
Government Association (V.A.G.A. ) study. Chairman Genrich pointed
out areas of our plan in conflict with the County ' s Plan. This
was due to the fact the county has designated areas to be
preserved for agriculture . There were also common planning areas
between communities which were identified. There was discussion
on the possibility of reducing densities in these areas in our
planning process .
The next item discussed was the extention over the railroad
tracks of Pauline Avenue vs. Busch Road. It was agreed by the
commissioners that Busch Road was the more desirable route
because it provided access from a wider area. This would aid in
bringing people into the town center area and also help to open
up some of the Villages planned industrial areas.
The third major item discussed was the future development
of the Happ Farm just north of Dundee Road. The Commissioners
agreed that we should adhere to our comprehensive plan and
preserve the frontage on Dundee Road as multiple family and not
allow the growth of strip commercial.
The following is a list of items which the Plan Commission
wanted the staff to study:
1) Check into the amount of ROW (the County has acquired)
for the Busch Road extention.
2) The staff should investigate alternate sources of
funding for completing Pauline Ave .

3) The Village attorney should investigate the legal
implications of putting through Pauline Ave . to
Weiland Road where there is an existing home in
ROW.
4) The staff should look into possible uses for the
excess Lake-Cook Road land near Weidner Road.
