MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE VILLAGE BOARD OF THE VILLAGE OF
BUFFALO GROVE,HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS,50 RAUPP BOULEVARD,
BUFFALO GROVE,ILLINOIS ON MONDAY,APRIL 23,2001
CALL TO ORDER
President Hartstein called the meeting to order at 7:34 P.M. Those present stood and pledged allegiance to
the Flag.
ROLL CALL
Roll call indicated the following present: President Hartstein;Trustees Marienthal,Glover,Berman,
Johnson,and Kahn. Trustee Braiman arrived at 8:00 P.M.
Also present were: William Balling,Village Manager;William Raysa,Village Attorney;William Brimm,
Assistant Village Manager/Finance Director;Ghida Sahyouni,Assistant Village Manager;Robert Pfeil,
Village Planner and Richard Kuenkler,Village Engineer.
COMMISSION APPOINTMENT
President Hartstein appointed Brian Rubin to the Fire&Police Commission. Moved by Glover,seconded
by Johnson,to concur with President Hartstein's appointment. Upon voice vote,the motion w..._,
unanimously declared carried.
PLAZA AT BUFFALO GROVE
In answer to a question from Trustee Glover,Mr.Balling explained the situation with regard to the
condition of the parking lot at the Plaza at Buffalo Grove site.
ROUTE 83 SIGNALIZATION
Trustee Marienthal asked that staff obtain information with regard to the status of the signalization at the
Route 83/Buffalo Grove Road intersection.
COMMUNITY &ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP
Ms. Sahyouni reviewed the status of activities along the various development corridors.
Plan Commission Chairman Ottenheimer reviewed what had transpired at the Plan Commission meeting.
The Board spent the meeting discussing the status of development activities,goals and planning,current
policies and structure,and targets for the year 2001.
EXECUTIVE MEETING
Moved by Berman,seconded by Glover,to move to Executive Meeting to discuss Lease of Municipal Real
Estate. Upon roll call,Trustees voted as follows:
AYES: 6—Marienthal,Braiman,Glover,Berman,Johnson,Kahn
NAYS: 0—None
Motion declared carried.
ADJOURNMENT
Moved by Braiman,seconded by Berman,to adjourn the meeting. Upon voice vote,the motion was
unanimously declared carried. The meeting was adjourned at 10:30 P.M.
