MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE ARTS COMMISSION OF THE VILLAGE OF
BUFFALO GROVE HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, 50 RAUPP BOULEVARD, BUFFALO
GROVE, ILLINOIS ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 13, 2016
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Chairman Elliott Hartstein
Approval of Minutes
A. Arts Commission - Regular Meeting - Nov 11, 2015 7:00 PM
RESULT: ACCEPTED [UNANIMOUS]
MOVER: Sandy Greenberg, Commissioner
SECONDER: Shari Ginsberg, Commissioner
AYES: Hartstein, Weissman, Bulmash, Ginsberg, Greenberg, Herman, Schneider,

ABSENT: Alan Nudelman, Fran Sachs
Old Business
Social Media Snow Man Contest
There has not been enough snow to date to build snow men. Once there is staff will notify the
commission before it is announced to the community.
501c3 Update
The commission recommended that staff work with the Village Attorney to accomplish this
project.
Sculpture Garden
No update at this time
Textile Arts Contest
Chairman Hartstein read Commissioner Nudelman's message to the commission regarding his
vision for the Textile Arts Contest. The commission reviewed his proposed rules and regulations
for the event. Commissioner Greenberg moved and Commissioner Weissman seconded a
motion to move forward with the contest pending the commissions changes.
New Business
Dance Contest
Chairman Hartstein described his interaction with the group interested in sponsoring the contest.
He stated he would be more than happy to have them present at the next meeting on the
stipulation that the commission could not at this time donate any money to the event.
Invitation to park district to attend future meeting to explore cooperation

Chairman Hartstein described his interaction with the representatives from the park district. They
stated that they would be more than happy to attend the next commission meeting to discuss
opportunities for collaboration.
