Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Chairman Elliott Hartstein
Approval of Minutes
A. Arts Commission - Regular Meeting - Oct 14, 2015 7:00 PM
RESULT: ACCEPTED AS AMENDED [UNANIMOUS]
MOVER: Sharon Borstein, Commissioner
SECONDER: Lynne Schneider, Commissioner
AYES: Weissman, Bulmash, Greenberg, Herman, Schneider, Borstein, Nudelman,
Sachs
ABSENT: Shari Ginsberg
Old Business
Band Concert
Chairman Hartstein thanked everyone for helped with the concert. He stated that this was the
best attended concert in years and that the band had a full house. Lynn Schneider requested
that the sponsorship process be addressed and revised going forward. Other commissioners
requested that more programs be printed because there were not enough at the concert. The
next band concert will be a 15th Anniversary Gala Event on April 24, 2016.
AEB Contest
Chairman Hartstein announced that there were three times as many submission as last year for
the contest. He then invited all of the commissioners to the reception to honor the artists at
American Enterprise Bank.
New Business
Strategic Planning
The commission agreed on the following goals and actions
Building Bridges between the commission and other community groups
Park District representative at meetings
Reach out to local art and music teachers
Host events throughout the year
Social Media Snow Event
Textile Arts Contest
Halloween Lawn Decorating Contest
Facilitating a cultural arts festival
Work in conjunction with other groups like the Chamber of Commerce and Friends of the
Park
Increase financial stability

Textile Arts
Alan Nudelman presented his concept of a Textile Arts contest. The commission requested that
he come back the following meeting to with more details regarding the event. The motion to table
was made and seconded by Alan Nudelman and Sandy Greenberg. All were in favor except Alan
Nudelman and Shari Ginsberg
Village Report
Staff received consensus from the commission to keep the same meeting dates and times for 2016.
