Landscaping Contest CL
Erwin Goldman won 1st place and was humbled by the honor. The Countryside News Paper
featured a story on the contest and the winner. The commission discussed adding additional
contests in the future.
Arts Calendar
The chair requested volunteers for the judging of the American Enterprise Bank calendar contest
on 10/24. Steve, Barbara, Lynne, Elliott, Allan, Fred, and Shari all volunteered.
New Business
Band Concert
The Buffalo Grove Band will hold its annual fall concert on 11/8.
Goal Settin-q
The commission continued their strategic planning discussion. Their conversation regarded goal
setting. The commission agreed upon the following general goals for the group: (1) Building
bridges between the commission and other community groups, namely the Buffalo Grove Park
District; (2) Hosting events throughout the year; (3) Facilitating a cultural arts festival; (4)
increasing the financial stability of the commission; (5) Promotion of public art.
Village Report
The commission congratulated the BG Singers for a successful concert. Likewise, the commission
congratulated Staff Liaison Evan Michel for getting married in September.
