PUBLIC HEARING
SUBJECT: Petition to the Village of Buffalo Grove for approval of a special use for outside
storage of building materials in the Industrial District pursuant to Section 17.48.020.C.9. of the
Village Zoning Ordinance with the following variations: ZONING ORDINANCE — Section
17.36.040. (to allow fewer off-street parking spaces than required by the applicable ordinance
standard); FENCE CODE—Section 15.20.060.A. (to allow a fence taller than 8 feet to screen the
outside storage area).
The petitioner proposes to operate a an outside storage area of approximately 53,000 square feet as
an accessory use to the wholesale building products distribution center in the principal building
(173,533 sq. ft.)on the property.

The Buffalo Grove Plan Commission will re-open the public hearing on Wednesday, August 15,
2007 in the Council Chambers,Buffalo Grove Municipal Building, 50 Raupp Boulevard, Buffalo
Grove,IL concerning an update of the Village Comprehensive Plan pursuant to the provisions of the
Illinois Municipal Code(65 ILCS 5/11-12-7).
The purpose of the hearing is to review recommendations concerning future land use in the Village
and adjacent unincorporated areas within the Village's planning jurisdiction. The draft plan makes
specific recommendations concerning land use designations and development policies for properties
within the Village's planning area.

Copies of the draft future land use maps are available for review at the Village Clerk's office and at
the Division of Planning Services, 50 Raupp Boulevard, and may be examined by any interested
persons.The draft maps are available on the Village's website,www.vbg.org->eLibrary->Maps-

All persons present at the public hearing will be given the opportunity to make comments and ask
questions concerning the draft Comprehensive Plan Update.
