RESOLUTION NO. 2008 - 34
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE VERNON AREA PUBLIC LIBRARY DISTRICT
2009 YEAR LONG EVENT, "We the People...A Community of Immigrants."
WHEREAS,the Village of Buffalo Grove desires to provide for a community that is rich in
both cultural and educational opportunities; and
WHEREAS,the Village Board is supportive of the Vernon Area Public Library District's
2009 event, "We the People...A Community of Immigrants;"and
WHEREAS,this series of events, programs and book discussions will celebrate the
cultures and traditions that are alive in the Vernon Area Public Library District; and
WHEREAS,the Village Board hereby endorses the intent of this event-which is to foster
mutual understanding, respect and appreciation for each other, and which supports the common
dream of dignity for all; and
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS that,
Section 1: The Vernon Area Public Library District is to be commended for bringing the
highest level of public programming to the residents of the Village of Buffalo Grove.
Section 2: The Village Board encourages the residents of the Village of Buffalo Grove to
avail themselves to this program of year long event, "We the People...A Community of
Immigrants."
