2022-11-07 - Resolution 2022-19 - DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY AS SURPLUS PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER FOR ITS SALE (400 LaSalle Ln) RESOLUTION NO. 2022-19 VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, ILLINOIS RESOLUTION DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY AS SURPLUS PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER FOR ITS SALE WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove, Illinois (the "Village") is a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health safety, morals, and welfare; and WHEREAS, the Village owns a vacant parcel that is approximately 1.1 acres located at the southwest corner of Buffalo Grove Road and LaSalle Lane (the "Property"); and WHEREAS, information concerning the size, use and zoning of the Property is set forth on Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein; and WHEREAS, the Village has the power to authorize the sale of surplus real estate pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/11-76-4.1 of the Illinois Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/11-76-4.1 of the Illinois Municipal Code, the Village had the value of the Property determined by a written appraisal, which appraisal is available in the Village Clerk's office for public inspection during regular Village business hours; and WHEREAS, the Village finds and determines that the Village no longer needs to retain ownership of the Property and that the Property is surplus to the Village's needs and therefore directs the Village Manager to pursue offers to purchase the Property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Buffalo Grove that Section 1. That the above recitals and legislative findings are found to be true and correct and are hereby incorporated herein and made a part hereof, as if fully set forth in their entirety. Section 2. The Property, as herein described, is hereby determined, and declared to be surplus real estate of the Village and therefore directs the Village Manager to advertise for offers to purchase the Property pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/11-76-4.1 of the Illinois Municipal Code.
