❖ Sign-Up for March 8, 2008 Blood Drive
❖ Call List—Life Source will be doing the calls along with email notification.
❖ Postcards —will be sent out by Life Source
❖ Update from Life Source :
Sharon discussed the new"Brighten Life " campaign at Life Source and discussed
notification changes i.e. email, mail or phone options, and how a donor can go on line and access
their personal information.
-Upcoming meeting and drives.
The Next meeting will be : May 19, 2008 and the following drive will be June 14, 2008
The rest of the years dates are as follows:

Items for Discussion
Blood Donor Commissioner Role:
The Commission shall meet and discuss all policies in a group, if contact is
needed with the Village President or any other entity/group, the commission shall
then appoint a spokesperson to do so. No one committee member shall solicit
anyone without full support and knowledge from the rest of the commission.
Life Source representative Role :
To make sure the drives are staffed properly and some marketing within in the
guidelines of Life Source.
Mission statement/Purpose:
The following mission statement was created:
The Village of Buffalo Grove Blood Donor Commission is dedicated to
inspiring all people to save lives through blood, platelets, and bone marrow
donation, increasing the numbers of blood donors and protecting blood
donor's interests.
Ideas for obtaining new donors.
The commission will be working with the BG Days committee to promote that
drive and be more a part of BG Days.
Ideas for giveaways —
Life Source has a plan where frequent donors can accumulate points and
redeem them in for prizes.
New chairperson :
Betty volunteered to be a co-chair for the commission and Paige will stay on as
the other co-chair.
Thank you cards and next drive is:
Peggy will do these and have them available for the drive.
Review Duties:
Kelly will be contacting the park District the day before the drive to confirm that
they have us scheduled and will get an emergency contact number in case they do
not show up.
Please note that we will be getting two new members.
