For BG days Blood Drive on Saturday August 30th 2008
Life Source:
Life Source had donated shirts for our committee members. Sharon brought all the shirts
with her to the meeting. Members not present can pick their shirts up from Peggy at
Village Hall. Thank you to Life Source,Sharon and Eva Donoghue for the shirts!
Life Source will send out post cards for up coming blood drives.
Sharon will provide a Life Source table skirt, display board and pamphlets for our BG
Days table on Thursday August 28th
BG Days Blood Drive:
Betty bought and donated 3 vinyl red table cloths for our blood drives.
Peggy will make cards with future blood drive dates for donors who are deferred.
Cookies: Doug said he will handle and pick up.
Bagels: can Kelly pick them up?
Media: Peggy will handle
Posters: Peggy will handle. Sharon delivered them at the meeting tonight.
If Jim Covert VP of ITXM is able to speak at Bingo Night, Peggy and Sharon will both
work with the media to have that covered.
Old Business:
Doug will check with Mike this Saturday on the status of his work with the Chamber of
Commerce and the BG Days Committee— as for give always.
Doug will talk with Caroline B. at St. Mary's—we would like to work with St. Mary's.
1/to post all Life Source Blood drives that are in Buffalo Grove in their bulletin.
2/to promote cooperation between both committees—to allow great drives all around.
We believe there is a NEW smaller bin with our supplies for blood drives! Thank you
Paige!
Discussion:
Now that we have shirts from Life Source, everyone should wear their shirts at the drives
and at BG Days on Thursday August 28th at our table. Peggy will be there all afternoon;
Betty will be there at 3pm. Anyone who would like to come and help is asked to be there
by 5pm. Ms. Cathy Ratike RN and her daughters will be there to talk to people and to
speak at Bingo night. Cathy and her daughter's lives have all been saved by blood
donation.
Peggy will look into if the blood drive schedule can be added to water bills for 2009.
