❖ Sign-Up for March 2, 2013 Blood Drive
Early: Arla, Jinjin, Karleen, Kelly?
Late: Doug, Mike, Debi, Julie
Julie to follow up with Kelly to see if she will be attending and picking up the bagels.
❖ Dates for meetings and drives for the remainder of 2013:
February 13, 2013 meeting for March 2, 2013 blood drive
May 14, 2013 meeting for the June 1, 2013 blood drive
August 14, 2013 meeting for the August 31, 2013 blood drive
November 13, 2013 for the December 7, 2013 blood drive
❖ Review tasks for Upcoming Drive
Cookies— Doug will call and Jinjin will pick up.
Bagels—Julie will check with Kelly to see if she can call and pick up the bagels.
Green Bin — Karleen will bring the bin and the Thank You cards.
Newspapers—Julie will check with Arla to see if she can bring the newspapers.
Mike—call Jets Pizza and secure 80 pizza box coupons. Arla will pick up the pizza boxes.
Mike will also arrange for lunch to be donated for the LifeSource staff from Jetts.
Posters— Flyers—were distributed.
Media — Debi will issue press releases in the local newspapers. Julie has added the blood
drive information to both the E-News and the Police Blotter. A slide has been created to be
aired on Channel 6. An announcement should be included in the next water bill as well.
Discussion took place concerning the construction at the Alcott Center and possibility of
being relocated to different rooms for the drive. Debi will follow up with Rick Missing as to
the current status of construction.

Debi advised that the theme for the March 2 drive is wellness. There are four items that
will be raffled to participating donors. Julie will prepare raffle boxes and the entry forms.
Possible themes for the June drive were discussed. Doug suggested a family theme with
possibly getting gift cards from local grocery stores for a picnic basket.
❖ LifeSource update:

The goal for the March 2 drive is 80.There were 77 units collected at the December 1,
2012 drive.
Debi advised that PNC Bank will attend the drive and distribute water bottles to donors. A
table will be available for them.
Julie will send an email blast on the Wednesday before the drive.
Debi inquired about getting recognition plaque for both Jett's Pizza and Deerfield Bakery.
She would like to include the number of years that these establishments have been
donating items to the blood drive. Julie will follow up with the Village.
Mike Terson suggested honoring long time donors at a Village Board meeting when they
reach a milestone donation. Joanne will see if she can compile information on the number
of donations from specific donors.
