❖ Sign-Up for August 31, 2013 Blood Drive
Early: Arla, Debi, Kelly, Jinjin, Julie
Late: Doug, Karleen, Mike, Julie
Julie to follow up with Kelly to see if she will be attending and picking up the bagels.
❖ Dates for meetings and drives for the remainder of 2013:
August 14, 2013 meeting for the August 31, 2013 blood drive
November 13, 2013 for the December 7, 2013 blood drive
❖ Review tasks for Upcoming Drive
Cookies— Doug will call and Jinjin will pick up.
Bagels—Julie will check with Kelly to see if she can call and pick up the bagels.
Green Bin — Debi will bring the bin and Julie will bring the Thank You cards.
Newspapers—Arta and Debi will bring the newspapers.
Mike—call Jets Pizza and secure 90 pizza box coupons. Julie will pick up the pizza boxes.
Mike will also arrange for lunch to be donated for the LifeSource staff from Jetts.
Posters— Flyers—will be distributed once received.
Media — Debi asked Susan Levy to send out the press releases in the local newspapers. Julie
has added the blood drive information to both the E-News and the Police Blotter. A slide
has been created to be aired on Channel 6.
The new drive hours were discussed. The consensus of the Commission was to start the new
hours at the December drive. The BG Days drive will remain at the current hours of 8:00
a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Maureen will have posters created to post at the drive promoting the
new drive hours. The new drive hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Debi advised that K1 Speed dropped their T-Shirt sponsorship of the BG Days Drive about
three weeks ago. Debi was able to secure three sponsors: American Enterprise Bank;
Beckley CPA and Gold Metal Ideas. The sponsors will be printed on the T-Shirts.
Discussion took place about using the smaller% size posters to promote the drive during
Bingo night on Thursday before the drive.
The December drive theme was discussed. Maureen will follow up if LifeSource will be
signing a contract with the 1985 Bears Players and will advise.
Recognition plaques for Deerfields Bakery and Jet's Pizza will be presented at the August 19,
2013 Village Board meeting. Debi and Julie plan on attending.
❖ LifeSource update:

The goal for the August 31 drive is 90. There were 79 units collected and 13 deferrals at the

June 1 drive.
LifeSource staffing was discussed.
Julie will send an email blast on the Wednesday before the drive.
