❖ Sign-Up for March 1, 2014 Blood Drive
Early: Arla, Kelly,Jinjin,
Late: Doug, Mike, Karleen
Paige Donnelly was welcomed back to the Commission.
Julie advised that she will no longer be working the blood drives but will continue to come
and donate blood. Julie will plan on being at the Alcott Center at 8:00a.m. and will also bring
the raffles boxes and Thank You Cards.
Julie to follow up with Kelly and Jinjin to verify they will be attending and ask Kelly to
arrange for the bagels from bagel bin and Jinjin to pick up the cookies from Deerfields.
❖ Dates for meetings and drives for 2014:
March 1, 2014 blood drive
May 14, 2014 meeting for the June 7, 2014 blood drive
August 13, 2014 meeting for the August 30, 2014 blood drive
November 12, 2014 meeting for the December 6, 2014 blood Drive
❖ Review tasks for Upcoming Drive
Cookies— Doug will call and Jinjin will pick up.
Bagels— Kelly will arrange for delivery of the bagels.
Green Bin —Arla will bring the bin and Julie will bring the Thank You cards, raffle boxes and
raffle tickets.
Newspapers—Arta will bring the newspapers.
Mike—call Jets Pizza and secure 90 pizza box coupons. Julie will pick up the pizza boxes. It
was determined that pizza will no longer be provided to the LifeSource staff.
Posters— Flyers—were distributed.
Media —Julie to send out the press releases in the local newspapers. Julie will add the blood
drive information to both the E-News and the Police Blotter. A slide will be created to be
aired on Channel 6.
The new drive hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The theme for the March Drive is wellness.
❖ LifeSource update:
SI
The goal for the March 1 drive is 83.
Debi asked Maureen to provide the number of 2x's and 3x's donors that attended the
December 2013 drive. Debi also asked for the number of Wheeling residents at the
December drive.
Maureen advised that LifeSource will be sending out the postcards and emails and will also
promote the drive on Facebook and in local newspapers. There is a drop in donations since
calls have not been made by LifeSource to potential donors.
❖ Items for Discussion
Julie reminded the Commissioners about the upcoming Volunteer Reception on Sunday,
February 23, 2014.
Julie reminded Paige to complete the 2014 Open Meetings Act training and provide the
certificate to her.
