Welcome
Linda welcomed the Commission members; new member Susan Mann; guests from the BG
Symphonic Band, Howard Green and Dan Weinberger; and Lori Boxer. The meeting began at
7:19 p.m.
Approval of Minutes, 6/18/2003
Due to a lack of quorum, meeting minutes will be considered for approval at the next meeting.
Chair Report
1) Linda congratulated the Band on two very successful recent performances, including the
Independence Day Extravaganza and Deer Park performance. Special thanks to Steve Robinson
for all the outstanding publicity.
2) Lincolnshire Art Festival. Trustee Trilling indicated that he attended the festival on Saturday and
Sunday. Linda also indicated that she attended the festival. Both individuals provided an overview
of the festival.
Proposed Art League
Due to time constraints, this report was moved ahead on the agenda. Ghida reported that the
proposal for the Art League was given to the Village Board following the last meeting. The draft
survey was finalized and copies have been made for distribution at the art festival. The results
should be tabulated, then will be presented to the Village Board with a recommendation.
Commissioners Reports
No reports.
Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band
Band Board - No report.
Business Plan. A draft Plan was submitted to the Commission for review; Howard provided an
overview of the draft.
Sponsorship - Ghida provided an update on the "band-aides" and expenditures. A copy of the
budget was distributed and is available upon request.
Upcoming performance schedule:
✓ 7/4/03— Friday. Independence Day Celebration, Rotary Village Green, 7 p.m. Confirmed.
✓ 7/27/03 —Sunday. BG Invitational Fine Art Festival. 12 —2 pm. Confirmed.
✓ 8/30/03 —Saturday. BG Days. 2:15 pm — 3:00 pm. Confirmed.
✓ 10/25/03— Saturday. BGHS. 7:00 p.m.
Buffalo Grove Invitational Fine Art Festival 2003
1) The AC volunteer assignments were reviewed.
2) The Art Purchase Program and Guidelines were reviewed.
3) Highlights of the festival were given.
4) Red shirts should be worn during festival hours; yellow polos should be worn for the awards
breakfast and Saturday night.
5) Discussion took place regarding the eSkape Party with Arty. Commissioners should wear
yellow shirts to the evening party.
Robyn volunteered to contact the Daily Herald and Pioneer Press for additional publicity.
Old Business
Due to Michelle's absence, a report regarding the discount card was deferred to the next meeting.

Meeting Schedule
. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 13th at 7:00 p.m. AC meetings will be
held on the second Wednesday of each month - unless otherwise noted. Meetings will be held at
Village Hall, second floor conference room, unless noted.
