follow-up.
• Allison indicated that the Band is considering opening the program to SHS students since they
have an art exhibit that is being held the day following the performance.
• Susan indicated that the principals in the SHS feeder schools expressed an interest in the
program, although the consortium art fair at SHS took precedence due to past participation and
scheduling.
• Lynne suggested that the Arts League participate by designing artwork. It was indicated that
this suggestion will be considered for future programs, although due to time constraints should not
be pursued this year.
• Since only one school is participating, no contest will be coordinated. Certificate of
Achievement's will be provided to each participant.

Buffalo Grove Invitational Fine Art Festival, July 17 & 18, 2004
More than 270 applicants have applied for the BG festival. Sandy reported that she and Ilene
attended the jury on last month. They reviewed one and two dimensional applications. Two (2)
gallery owners, 2 artists, 2 curators, and others served on the jury. Sandy indicated it was well
done and an excellent experience.
Ghida reported that packets of information were sent to all artists that were selected to be in the
BG Invitational.
The Letter of Understanding between the Village and Amdur Productions is expected to be on the
next agenda for Village Board approval, 3/15/2004. There were no major changes in the Letter
from the 2003 arrangement with Amdur Productions.
Cheers to LaSalle — Liz Dimond representing LaSalle Bank provided $1,000 for sponsorship to pay
for volunteer expenses at the art festival. The new LaSalle logo will be featured on the bank of the
"red shirt"/volunteer shirts. It was agreed that the "Bully" logo could be featured on the chest area
—smaller than last year's design.
Food Order Form — it was agreed that the Village should coordinate food sales with Town Center
businesses to the artists the weekend of the festival.
Volunteer meeting- May 12th, 6:00 p.m., prior to the AC meeting.
Ghida reported that letters to all businesses in the Town Center will be sent a letter to advise them
of the festival.
Old Business
Part of the Arts card — Michelle.
Michelle suggested art festival volunteers wearing buttons promoting this new card program. It
was indicated that the park district has a button making machine. Michelle will create a draft design
for the button, "Ask me about...". Ghida will inquire with the park district about the use of their
machine.
A draft letter to businesses was shared with the attendees. Following is an overview of the
program:
$5.00 cost to purchase one card. The card would be valid for one year.
Businesses would be solicited to place their discount/promotional item on the card for a cost of
$25. Their logo would be included on a large poster board that would be placed at all AC events.
Participating businesses would also receive a card to display at their business identifying their
participation in the program. The Daily Herald will conduct all the camera-ready artwork; the
Village's expense will be printing which should be paid for from the profit of this fund-raiser.
Village Report
The Village received an e-mail from Michelle Ailene True, Founder/Director of Poetic License
Writers' Group. She expressed an interest in poetry readings at BG Days, the Fine Art Festival,
and special events throughout the year. Ms. True was invited to the AC meeting. It was
suggested that these community events do not lend themselves for a poetry reading. It was
recommended that she pursue a partnership with a business such as Books Again in the Town
Center.
New Business
Barbara indicated that she spoke to a Commissioner of the BG Park District about his
dissatisfaction with the art display at the BG Fitness Center. Barbara will follow-up with Larry
Reiner and extend an invitation for him to attend the next AC meeting.
Meeting Schedule
The next meeting will be held on April 14th at 7:00 p.m. AC meetings will be held on the second
Wednesday of each month - unless otherwise noted. Meetings will be held at Village Hall, second
floor conference room, unless noted.
Motion to Adjourn — Motion by Mann, second by Gold. Motion carried.
The meeting concluded at 8:40 p.m. Linda thanked the members for their attendance and input.
