Welcome
Linda welcomed the Commission members and special guests Dan Weinburger. The meeting
began at 7:02 p.m.
Approval of Minutes, 12/8/04 & 1/12/05
Approved by Commissioner Sandy Greenberg, second by Sue Mann. Motion carried.

Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band
Band Board
Bonnie reported the following information:
March 10—Students at Meridien
July 4— Rotary
July 17 —Art Festival (Confirm with Amy)
July 26 — Libertyville — Independence Grove
August 7— Cantigny in Wheaton
Fall Concert at BG —Should not call until June
Spending - $1000 for music soon; more instruments if possible
Fred — Make list of instrument purchases for Commission
Need to redo survey—Check with ghida Board will revamp
Sponsorship — An update was provided on the "band-aides" and expenditures. A copy of the
budget was distributed and is available upon request.
Performance schedule:
✓ May 15, 2005, Annual Spring Concert, SHS. Confirmed. —7 PM
"Limelight Cafe"
Gayle reported that plans for the February 18 limelight are underway; three groups have signed up
thus far; the performances will begin at 8:00 pm and end at 9:30 pm.
3 bands now 2 have cancelled
Can sign up until this Friday

Linda confirmed that Sam Ash will provide the lights again for the event.
The next Limelight will be held on April 29, 2005 at eSkape; 7:30 pm — 11 pm.
Publicize to 8th grades for April. Linda give letter to teachers at consortium
Bench Program — "Sittin' Pretty in BG"
It was reported that the benches will be delivered in mid-February. Businesses will be contacted to
pick-up benches; they have until 6/1 to paint their bench(es).

district, etc. Village Arts Calendar attach to village Newsletter. Get someone to design — See Hillel
Format.
Adult Limelight— venue is the problem. Forest Grove? maybe on the deck; have a food source to
cater.
Try fitness centers in BG. Parks not good no large venue
Golf Dome or Fitness Center— League talk to Mike Rylko
Idea (Barb Herman) —Sing-Along blizzard of Oz or Sound of Music BG Theater?
Village Report
Everyone should have received an invitation to the Commissioners Reception on February 27th at
the Arboretum. Please RSVP by 2/21.
Meeting Schedule
The next meeting will be held on March 9, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. AC meetings will be held on the
second Wednesday of each month - unless otherwise noted. Meetings will be held at Village Hall,
second floor conference room, unless noted.
