Linda recommended that the Village participate in a national effort to promote the National Anthem. Apparently, 61% of Americans don't know the lyrics to the National Anthem. As a result, states and cities around the country have joined with The National Anthem Project to promote the importance of music education. To become an All Star, each city or state must proclaim their support for the project and for music education, and participating agencies coordinate the National Anthem at their civic events. A complete list of All Stars can be found at www.thenationalanthemproject.org/alIstarcities.htm1. Motion to recommend that the Village of Buffalo Grove apply to be an All Star by Greenberg, second by Herman. Motion carried. If approved by the Village Board, Linda will follow-up with the coordinating organization. Village Report No report. Meeting Schedule The next meeting will be held on November 9, 2005.
