Welcome
Linda welcomed the Commissioners. The meeting began at 7:00 p.m.

Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band
The following programs are planned:
March 9 Recital —arts in the schools month
March 12 — Ensemble recital
May 21 —formal concert
Limelight Cafe
Gayle provided an overview of the Limelight Cafe from February 17, 2006. Eight bands
performed at the Limelight and approximately 300 teens attended the event. The Village profited
$264 from the event. Discussed took place regarding a summer Limelight based on the great
interest from band members and attendees; this program will be discussed at the next meeting.

Ghida is currently obtained proposals for printing; a decision is expected next week. At the start
of the meeting, each Commissioner voted for their top five photos to be included in the calendar.
Ghida will include these photos, arrange them for each month, and then provide a
recommendation to the Village Board for final consideration.
Buffalo Grove Invitational Art Festival
Sandy indicated that she attended the Arts Jury in Glenview. She reviewed hundreds of
applications — booth slides plus slides of artists' work. She stated that some judges are artists.
Village's 50th Anniversary Committee Update
Barbara indicated that the Committee met last month and discussed a number of ideas to
celebrate the Village's anniversary:
•March 7, 2008— anniversary date. A kick-off was discussed — possibly a dance or other similar
event and perhaps located at the golf dome.
•BG Singers / Band concert to incorporate 50's music
•Grease for summer musical
•Sock hop
•Historical display at Raupp
•New time capsule
•Chocolate logo candies from Long Grove Confectionary in BG
•Special license plates
Old Business
Kids' talent night
A possible talent night was discussed at the JCYS Atrium — gym or multipurpose room. There is
no stage available and no sound. It was indicated that the location is "too schoolish" — not the
right environment. Tripp and Aptakisic Junior High may be available; the estimated cost is $22
per hour.
A motion by Alaynick to continue to pursue the event in the fall on a Friday night, second by
Kove. Motion carried. The Commission will audition acts for the event.

Meeting Schedule
The next meeting will be held on April 19, 2006. AC meetings are typically held on the second
Wednesday of each month. Meetings will be held at Village Hall, second floor conference room,
unless noted.
