Susan suggested if we do another survey that a representative of the Arts Commission come to a band practice, distribute the surveys and ask that they be completed at that time. Her feeling is that it would only take about 30 minutes; they can be collected, and then reviewed by Village staff. Bonnie Gold thanked Susan Mann for her recognition of the Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band at the Meridian School Open House. The band was practicing while the open house was in progress and Susan made a large sign the she placed front of the practice room letting everyone know the wonderful sounds they were hearing was the Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band. On August 3, 2008 the Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band and the Buffalo Grove Singers will do a joint concert which will be advertised as an ice cream social. This is another 50th Anniversary event. The 50th Anniversary Committee will also be doing the 2008 calendar. Old Business Rock Garden — Susan recapped the discussion on the Rock Garden from last month's meeting. It was discussed that this project could be done during the Art Festival in conjunction with the 50 th Anniversary. The location of the permanent Rock Garden is still under discussion. Fred met with a representative of Sunshine Crafts who felt that the company could do a mold of a buffalo for the committee. The concept was to have people decorate the buffalos as part of the Art Festival (50th Anniversary) and judge the top 50 entries. These entries would then be housed in a case in Village Hall for display. Gayle made a motion for Fred to get a quote on the cost of the mold and buffalos. It was seconded by Susan and passed.
