Chair Report
Linda Rosen informed the commission that Robyn Kove has resigned from the Arts
Commission. The committee discussed the addition of Chris Gibson and Dan Olbur to the

Buffalo Grove, also expressed interest in staying on the committee. The Village Board for is
considering changes in the policy to allow Chris and Sandy to serve on the committee.
Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band
Bonnie Gold reported on the October 28th concert. It was an excellent concert but attendance
was down from previous events. The committee suggested that the band enhance their
marketing for the concerts. Suggestions included developing an email mailing list, outreach to
the senior facilities in the community, and sending information to the music educators within our
community. Bonnie will bring these suggestions to the band.
Trustees Kahn and Braiman reported on the meeting that they had with Howard Green and
Ghida Neukirch. Another band survey will be done in January.
Limelight Cafe
Gayle Pervous reported on the November 3rd Limelight Cafe. All of the bands performing that
evening represented students from Buffalo Grove and Stevenson High Schools. Proceeds from
the event were donated to the Elliott Cellini Healing Fund. The profits from the admission fees
totaled $140, matching funds of $140 were contributed by Bill Feldgraber of eSkape and
additional donations collected that evening were $113 for a total donation of$393.
Gayle mentioned that there are other ways to market this event and discussed putting the next
Limelight, scheduled for February 2, 2007, in Facebook.
Gayle thanked the volunteers for the evening - Barbara Herman, Fred Weissmann, Carol
Berman, Sandy Greenberg, Chris Gibson and Dan Olbur. A special thanks to Bob Boxer who
assisted with the sound system for the program.
Little Limelight
Linda Rosen reported on the success of the First Little Limelight that was held on October 27th.
The committee recommended that this program be repeated again next year in October or
November. Linda had made recommendations for changes in the audition system and the
performance.
