A suggestion was made to do another survey after the holiday concerts.

The program will be in the purple room and the set-up will be round tables, chairs, a stage and
sound equipment. There will be no alcoholic beverages served. Snacks, coffee and soda will be
supplied as part of the entry fee $8 per person/$15 per couple. A performer does not have to be
a resident of the Village to perform. This will be advertised in the Village Newsletter and Gayle
will attempt to get coverage in the local press.

The committee discussed the possible project for the Family Art Tent of a rock garden. This
idea will receive further discussion.
Village's 50th Anniversary Committee Update
Barbara reported that the kick-off dinner for the 50th Anniversary celebration will be on 03/07/08.
This will be an invitation only event. The next day will be a communitywide celebration and then
other events through the year.
Note Cards
To-date 30 packages of 10 cards have been sold. Additional cards will be available for sale at
Little Limelight, Limelight and the Symphonic Band concerts. The cards will be advertised in the
Village Newsletter. Additional cards can be ordered by emailing BGArtsp_vbg.org or by calling
the Office of the Village Manager. These emails and calls will be directed to Laura. In addition, a
single card can be mailed for a minimum donation of $3.00.
Sculpture
The committee discussed the concept for the proposed statue for the 50th Anniversary.
It was decided to keep it a broad based interpretation with an emphasis on family and
community. Linda asked the Art Commission members to go out and seek information on
potential artists that may be interested in doing a commission piece. The proposed budget
would be around $10,000.
New Business
Linda discussed the importance of getting the youth of the community involved with our
committee. She felt we should be looking for approximately 8 high school students to assist in
our programs.
Village Report
Carol discussed a question that was posed to her by Lou Eisenberg about the Arts Commission
becoming involved in the 100th anniversary celebration of the Red Barn in the Crossings. The
committee discussed this idea and felt that it would be best sponsored by the Crossings
Homeowners Association or the Buffalo Grove Historical Society.
