Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Marilyn Alaynick to approve the minutes and seconded by Barbara Herman. The motion was unanimously approved. Chair Report Linda thanked all who volunteered for the Symphonic Band Concert on Saturday, November 10 th . Also, best wishes to Sharon Borstein who is recovering from surgery. Art Festival Carol reported that the Village was anticipating a new contract from Amdur Productions. The th th non-confirmed dates of the 2013 festival are July 13 and 14 . Tim Beechick, of Hamilton Partners, has agreed to allow us to use the lobbies and connecting corridor of the Riverwalk buildings for a winter art show in 2013. Carol is meeting with Amy th Amdur on November 27 at noon to look at the site and see if she feels a festival will work at that location. Linda Rosen and Sandy Greenberg will join Carol and Amy for that meeting. Members of the commission are encouraged to attend the Amdur Productions indoor art th nd festival to be held at the Highland Park Country Club on November 30 — December 2 . This will give us an idea of the type of indoor show done by this company. Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band The November 101h Fall Symphonic Band Concert was held at Libertyville High School. It was a very successful concert and Howard Green, the conductor, was very pleased with the event. A special thanks to volunteers Shari Ginsberg, Mark Andrews, Chris Gibson, Bonnie and Len Gold and Susan Levy for taking tickets and handing out the programs. It was noted that the one problem at the high school was access to the facility for handicapped individuals. There were no curb cuts near the door. The band is getting ready for their upcoming holiday performances: Sunday, December 2, 4:00 pm Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Prospect Heights Sunday, December 9, 3:00 pm St. Mary Catholic Church, Buffalo Grove Sunday, December 16, 4:00 pm Hope Lutheran Church, Long Grove - *Jazz Band* Wednesday, December 19, 7:00 pm Northwest Assembly of God, Mt. Prospect Howard is requesting that we look at Wheeling, Vernon Hills and Hersey High School for possible future performances. Possible dates for fall of 2013 would be Saturday October 261h, November 2nd or November 91h with November 2nd the preferred date. Lynne Schneider stated that the Heart of Buffalo Grove program would be November 23, 2013 which should not conflict with the fall concert. Artists' League. Carol provided Sharon Borstein's report in her absence. The last Artists' League meeting was th held at the Buffalo Grove Health and Fitness facility on October 29 . At that time the pieces 't that were exhibited in their gallery since September 1 were removed. The artists that were in attendance spoke about what they had exhibited and described their medium. The next meeting will be held in January. Public Art 2013 Lori Lapping said the committee will get together after the first of the year to discuss the bench project at the Rotary Green and come back with a proposal for commission approval. Old Business Great Big Little Art Show Sharon Borstein requested that this project be put on hold until she recovers from her recent surgery.
