Welcome
The meeting was called to order at 7:16PM.

seconded by Mark Andrews. The motion was unanimously approved.
Chair Report
Prior to this meeting the Arts Festival Volunteer meeting was held in the Council Chambers.
The meeting was not well attended. Possible consideration for next year is to eliminate this
meeting since so many of the volunteers have previously served and know what is expected of
them that day.
Linda reported on the meeting that was held with Amy Amdur and the village staff to review
the site planning for the fest.
Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band
The fall concert will be held on November 3, 2013, at Buffalo Grove High School.
The Jazz Band will be playing the Friday night prior to the start of the fest. All commissioners
are encouraged to attend.
Artists' League.
Guest speaker Larry Goldberg spoke to the group about how to write a business plan.
The May meeting was a follow-up to Larry Goldberg's program —"Show me yours and I'll show
you mine." The members were asked to bring their business plans in and the group critiqued
each others plans.
No summer meetings are planned.
Art Festival
Carol reviewed the details of the fest with the commission members. We still need more
donations of water, bananas, granola bars, etc. Linda, Bonnie and Gayle plan to visit some local
stores to attempt to get donations. Barbara brought the bags that were donated by Buffalo
Grove Bank and Trust.
Linda purchased two large coolers from Target that can be used for the distribution of water for
$25.00 each.
Carol reported that over 40 students from Stevenson High School have volunteered to assist
with the fest.
