Plan Commission Sub-Committee - Meeting Minutes

Purpose:
The Appearance Plan Team Meetings with the Plan Commission Sub-Committee have been held
on June 5, July 17, August 21, September 12, October 16, November 6 and December 18.
Meeting minutes have been provided following each meeting.
The purpose of the most recent meeting was to continue review of the Plan.
Appearance Plan
1) The review began on page 6, Article V. A.3.
2) Bob and Greg presented various recommendations for Article V, Criteria for Appearance based
on discussion at the last committee meeting (see e-mail from Robert Pfeil to Ghida Neukirch dated
12/18/2002). Minor further modifications were made; the revised information will be incorporated
into the new draft Plan.
3) At the previous meeting, it was recommendation by legal counsel that all the "should"
statements be changed to "shall' if the Committee wants the issues noted as requirements. Since
there will be a modification process as part of the Plan, it was recommended that the standards of
the Plan be set "high", then modifications can be considered as appropriate.
Next steps:
1) Continue review of the Plan beginning on page 8, Article V. CAJ).
Minutes from the Plan Commission Subcommittee will continue to be provided to the entire Plan
Commission and the Village Board. Everyone is encouraged to provide comment at any time.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 15th, 6:00 p.m., Village Hall, Trustee
Conference Room. A reminder will be sent to the team one week prior to the meeting.
