RESOLUTION NO. 99- 48
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE RAPID IMPLEMENTATION
OF THE NORTHBOUND LAKE COOK ROAD ENTRANCE RAMP
TO THE TRI -STATE TOLLWAY
WHEREAS, after long discussions with many State and local officials. representatives of
the business community and other members of the public, the Tollway Authority made a commitment to
construct the northbound Lake Cook Road entrance ramp to the Tri -State Tollway with construction
committed to start in early 2000 and be open to traffic before the end of 2000; and,
WHEREAS, the Lake Cook Road entrance ramp needs to be constructed at this time in
order to effectively coordinate with improvements scheduled by the Cook County Highway Department on
Lake Cook Road so that construction related disruption of the projects can be minimized. and,
WHEREAS, the provision of this ramp is needed to mitigate traffic congestion on various
north /south roads which now are used as traffic proceeds from the Lake Cook Road corridor to the next
Tri -State Tollway entrance at Illinois Route 22.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Village President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Buffalo Grove, Lake and Cook Counties, Illinois, as follows:
1. Governor Ryan and the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority officials are urged to
immediately reauthorize the implementation of the construction of the northbound Lake
Cook Road access ramps to the Tri -State Tollway, in accordance with the previously
established schedule.
2. The Village President is authorized and directed to transmit this resolution to Governor
Ryan and to Thomas Cuculich, Tollway Executive Director.
