A RESOLUTION COMMENDING RETIRED DEPUTY CHIEF (/
JAMES A. HANSEN l'

WHEREAS, James A. Hansen served as a Reserve Police Officer for the Village of Buffalo Grove
from 1959 until 1965 serving in the capacities of Patrolman and Sergeant; and,
WHEREAS, Deputy Chief James A. Hansen has served the citizens of Buffalo Grove since April
of 1967 as a Paid -On -Call member of the Buffalo Grove Fire Department, Inc., and later for the Village of 1
Buffalo Grove Fire Department; and,
WHEREAS, James A. Hansen joined the Buffalo Grove Fire Department, Inc. in April, 1967 as a
Paid -On -Call Firefighter and later as a.Paid -On -Call Lieutenant; and,
WHEREAS, James A. Hansen enrolled and graduated from the state's first paramedic class in
1972; and,
WHEREAS, James A. Hansen became a full time member of the Buffalo Grove Fire Department,
Inc. on September 2, 1972, and subsequently was hired as a charter member of the new municipal fire
department in 1981 as a Captain and was promoted to Deputy Chief in 1992; and,
WHEREAS, James A.-Hansen has served the residents of Buffalo Grove faithfully until he retired
from active service from the Buffalo Grove Fire Department on July 31,:1999.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Buffalo Grove, Cook and Lake Counties, Illinois as follows:
1. That Deputy Chief James A. Hansen be commended on behalf of the citizens of Buffalo
Grove for his exemplary and distinguished service to the Village.
2. That this resolution be presented to Deputy Chief James A. Hansen with gratitude and best
wishes for his retirement.
