A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING LEE SZYMBORSKI FOR SERVICE AS

WHEREAS, Lee Szymborski has

served Buffalo Grove bl d capably p y an enthusiastically as the Assistant Village Manager

between 1987 and 1999; and
WHEREAS, Lee Szymborski has contributed in a substantial way to the betterment of the Buffalo Grove
Community through his diligent efforts in the completion of several strategic projects, including:
i
1) The opening of the U. S. Postal Service Facility in Buffalo Grove. 2) The program oversight of the North Central
Service Line, including the expansion of facilities presently under way. 3) The formulation of a comprehensive Economic
Development Strategy for Buffalo Grove. 4) Complete office management responsibilities for the Office of Village
Manager, including the formulation, staffing and deployment of a fully operational MIS Department, Personnel
Administration, including serving as chief labor negotiator, review of Personnel Rules & Regulations, Pay Plan Adjustments,
Position Classifications Study, and the update of the Performance Evaluation System. 5) Development, support and liaison

to the Commission For Residents With Disabilities, and serving as liaison to the Buffalo Grove Police & Fire
Commission. 6) General support to the Village Manager & Village Board and a the Buffalo Grove
complete review of
Municipal Code. 7) Executive search and selection of the Executive Director the Northwest Municipal Conference,

and the Northwest Water Commission,, and serving as Acting Director of the Northwest Water Commission during the
hiring vacancy. 8) Active in professional management organizations on a state and national level and twice published in Public
Management Magazine.
WHEREAS,Lee has announced a substantial career advancement in accepting the position of City Administrator
for the City of Mequon, Wisconsin' after a long and fulfilling career in Buffalo Grove.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, that:
1. Lee Szymborski be commended for the outstanding achievements that mare Buffalo Grove a better
