1999-19Village Of Grate �x.a RESO ON 99-19 COMMENDING SIDNEY H. MATHIAS FOR SERVICE TO THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE WHEREAS, Sidney H. Mathias has served Buffalo Grove enthusiastically since 1991 as Village President, promoting, advancing and enriching the structure of this community and the lives of its residents; and WHEREAS, Sidney has, during this period, not only served Buffalo Grove with honor, but has been in leadership positions for regional organizations important to Buffalo Grove, including serving as President of the Northwest Municipal Conference, Vice -Chair Work Program Committee, 1" Vice -Chair Executive Council of Mayors of the CATS Council of Mayors Council, Lake County Commissioner of the Northern Illinois Planning Commission, Chairman of the North Central Service Line Mayoral Task Force, Delegate to the Solid Waste f h k Agency o Nort ern Coo County as well as the Illinois Municipal League and Lake County Municipal League Legislative Committee, and WHEREAS, Prior to serving as 'Village President, Sidney was an elected Trustee in Buffalo Grove and previously served as a member of the Buffalo Grove Zoning Board of Appeals, and WHEREAS, During his'tenure as Village President, _Sidney led in the further advancement of Buffalo Grove in new services such as the North Central Commuter Service; "promoted and supported sound fiscal planning and stable property tax policies; and encouraged technology applications'in local government; and WHEREAS, Sidney . decided not to 'seek re- election as Village President following his election in November, 1998 to serve in the Illinois House of Representatives representing the 5111 District. NOW, THEREFORE, BE' IT RESOLVED BY THH BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE \) VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE THAT: J 1. Sidney H. Mathias be commended for his service to Buffalo Grove and his contributions to making it a better place; and 2. This Resolution stand as a permanent record of the Village of his exemplary service as Village President, 1991 -1999; and 3.
