1998-01RESOLUTION NO. 98-
Whereas, Pace Route 691 provides service along Thompson Boulevard, Highland Grove Drive,
Pauline Avenue, Weiland Road and Busch Road, and to the Buffalo Grove bus and rail
commuter facility, and
Whereas, Route 691 also provides an important link from the Buffalo Grove Commuter facility
to the Deerfield train station, which expands the options for Buffalo Grove and North Central rail
commuters by allowing them access to Metra's Milwaukee North line, and,
Whereas, Route 691 links to four other regional bus routes, allowing local bus commuters the
option of expanding their travel areas with a simple transfer between routes, and
Whereas, Pace has now proposed the elimination of Route 691, having scheduled a public
hearing at the Buffalo Grove Village Hall on Tuesday January 13 from 7 PM to 8 PM to solicit
comment on the planned route elimination,
Now therefore, be it resolved that the Village of Buffalo Grove opposes the elimination of
Route 691 until such time as Metra's North Central Line realizes it's planned service expansion
and can provide additional scheduling options;
Be it further resolved that the Village of Buffalo Grove encourages all commuters and
businesses who feel they may be affected by the elimination of Route 691 to come to the public
hearing at the Buffalo Grove Village Hall on Tuesday January 13 from 7 PM to 8 PM to provide
comments on the issue.
