1998-01RESOLUTION NO. 98- Whereas, Pace Route 691 provides service along Thompson Boulevard, Highland Grove Drive, Pauline Avenue, Weiland Road and Busch Road, and to the Buffalo Grove bus and rail commuter facility, and Whereas, Route 691 also provides an important link from the Buffalo Grove Commuter facility to the Deerfield train station, which expands the options for Buffalo Grove and North Central rail commuters by allowing them access to Metra's Milwaukee North line, and, Whereas, Route 691 links to four other regional bus routes, allowing local bus commuters the option of expanding their travel areas with a simple transfer between routes, and Whereas, Pace has now proposed the elimination of Route 691, having scheduled a public hearing at the Buffalo Grove Village Hall on Tuesday January 13 from 7 PM to 8 PM to solicit comment on the planned route elimination, Now therefore, be it resolved that the Village of Buffalo Grove opposes the elimination of Route 691 until such time as Metra's North Central Line realizes it's planned service expansion and can provide additional scheduling options; Be it further resolved that the Village of Buffalo Grove encourages all commuters and businesses who feel they may be affected by the elimination of Route 691 to come to the public hearing at the Buffalo Grove Village Hall on Tuesday January 13 from 7 PM to 8 PM to provide comments on the issue.
