RECOGNIZING THE EFFORTS OF THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE �(

BUFFALO GROVE POLICE DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is widely recognized as having one of the lowest
crime rates in the nation, and
WHEREAS, the men and women of the Buffalo Grove Police Department are highly trained in
every aspect of crime prevention, law enforcement, and criminal investigation, and
WHEREAS, the crime of homicide, an exceedingly rare crime throughout the Village's history,
recently occurred within the community, and
WHEREAS, the Buffalo Grove Police Department was able to immediately mobilize and launch
a thorough and efficient investigation resulting in the apprehension of their primary suspect
within 60 hours of the incident with the assistance of the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force,
the support of the Office of Lake County State's Attorney Michael Waller, aria the cooperation
of the co- workers of the victim, and

WHEREAS, the men and women of the Buffalo Grove Police Department; confronted with the
urgency and pressure of investigating a rare and tragic homicide in our community, maintained a

high degree of personal and professional conduct and exhibited the utmost dedication,
commitment, and sensitivity to the community and the family and friends the they
of victim, as
quickly and efficiently brought the case to a close,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Buffalo Grove, Cook and Lake Counties, IL, that the Village of Buffalo Grove
recognizes the great personal, professional, individual and group efforts of the Buffalo Grove
Police Department in solving the tragic crime which befell our community on the morning of
January 29, 1996.
