RESOLUTION NO. 96- 23
A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THE APPOINTMENT OF
SCHAUMBURG VILLAGE PRESIDENT AL LARSON
TO THE PACE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is a Home Rule Unit by virtue of the Illinois Constitution of 1970;
and
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is a member of the Northwest Municipal Conference which has
been designated by the Metropolitan Planning Council for Northeastern Illinois as the Regional Transportation
Council for northern Cook County responsible for review, evaluation and recommendations regarding transportation
issues in the sub - region; and
WHEREAS, there is currently a vacancy on the Pace Board for the representative from the Northwest
Council area; and
WHEREAS, the Cook County Board of Commissioners is authorized to appoint an individual to this
position; and
WHEREAS, the Northwest Municipal Conference has endorsed and recommends the appointment of
Schaumburg President Al Larson for the nomination to this position; and
WHEREAS, Al Larson, as President of the Village of Schaumburg and as a member of the Northwest
Municipal Conference, has maintained a high level of involvement on transportation issues in the northwest suburbs,
including the support of transit in the area,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, to endorse the
recommendation that Al Larson, President of the Village of Schaumburg, serve as a member of the Pace Board of
Directors.
