COMMENDING DAVID HAFFT FOR HIS SERVICE TO
THE COMMUNITY BLOOD DONOR COMMISSION, 1989 -.1995
WHEREAS,the Village of Buffalo Grove has long recognized the importance of rejuvenating
the supply of blood in northeastern Illinois by assisting Life Source, Inc. for these purposes; and
WHEREAS, a vital link to assuring a safe and healthy community blood supply is secured by
the Village's Community Blood Donor Commission which has benef Itt ed from the leadership of David
Hafft; and
WHEREAS, David began his service to the Village when he was appointed to the Community
Blood Donor Commission on June 26, 1989 and was appointed Co- Chairman in October, 1990; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure, the Blood Donor Commission has helped Life Source, Inc.
secure over 2500 units of blood from Village residents, 41 of which David donated himself; and
WHEREAS, David has freely donated his time, effort and personal example to this worthy
cause,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, that David Hafft be commended for his service to the Community Blood Donor Commission
and that the community expresses its gratefulness to his commitment during this period.

I intend to resign my position on the Blood Donor Commission
effective 4/30/95. I have enjoyed the work and involvement
and hope to become involved again in the future.
Barb Spence has agreed to take over the chairpersonship,
assuming the rest of the commission agrees with this at our
February 21, 1995 meeting, and if it meets with you approval.
She has done a fantastic job organizing and coordinating our
meetings and drives since her first day on the commission.
