RESOLUTION NO. 91- 71
A RESOLUTION OBJECTING TO THE REQUEST OF NATIONAL
SCHOOL BUS SERVICES, INC. FOR A VARIATION OF THE
BUFFERYARD REQUIREMENT OF THE LAKE COUNTY ZONING
ORDINANCE PURSUANT TO LAKE COUNTY ZONING NOTICE #2880
WHEREAS, the National School Bus Services property legally described as:
PARCEL A
That part of the northwest 1/4 of Section 27, Township 43 North, Range 11,
East of the Third Principal Meridian, described as follows: Beginning at the
southeast corner of the west 1/2 of the west 1/2 of the said northwest 1/4;
thence north along the east line of the west 1/2 of the west 1/2 of the said
northwest 1/4 a distance of 1087.50 feet; thence east along a line parallel
with the south line of said northwest 1/4, a distance of 636.85 feet to a
point on the most easterly line of lands conveyed by deed recorded as
Document No. 1557315; thence south along said easterly line, 1088.86 feet to
a point on said south line 571.75 feet east of said southeast corner; thence
west along said south line, 571.75 feet to the hereinabove designated point
of beginning, in Lake County, Illinois.
is zoned in the Urban (U) District by Lake County and is required to be
developed in accordance with the standards and regulations of the Lake County
Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the Lake County Zoning Board of Appeals has previously granted
variations of the County's sanitary sewer and road access regulations to allow
development of the property contrary to the planning goals of the Village of
Buffalo Grove; and,
WHEREAS, National School Bus Services has demonstrated no hardship other
than economic considerations concerning the cost of landscaping to comply with
County bufferyard requirements; and,
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is deeply concerned that unwarranted
variations to the County Zoning Ordinance will undermine the effectiveness of the
County Zoning Ordinance and encourage other property owners to request
variations for economic reasons thereby reducing the aesthetic quality of
developments and creating a pattern of incompatible land uses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT AND
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE
COUNTIES, ILLINOIS THAT:

1. The foregoing Whereas clauses are hereby incorporated herein.
2. The Village of Buffalo Grove objects to the requested variation of the
bufferyard requirement because it is based solely on economic
considerations and will encourage other property owners to request
similarly unwarranted relief from the standards of the Lake. County
Zoning Ordinance.
