RESOLUTION NO. 81- 64
A RESOLUTION CONCERNING CURRENT AND /OR PROSPECTIVE
LITIGATION BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE AND
THE VILLAGE OF WHEELING
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove through its history has
experienced lawsuits between itself and its neighbors; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is interested in fostering good
relations with the Village of Wheeling, and wishes to broaden and expand its
relations with the Village of Wheeling in the future;
NOW, THEREFORE,. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD
OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE
COUNTIES, ILLINOIS that:
1. The Village of Buffalo Grove pledges in the future not to initiate
litigation with the Village of Wheeling until it has conducted one meeting
between the Village President of Buffalo Grove and the Village President
of Wheeling, or their representative, on the matter subject to litigation,
before filing such litigation, subject to the Village of Wheeling passing a
similar resolution pledging its intent to avoid further litigation with the
Village of Buffalo Grove without first conferring with Buffalo Grove.
2. Paragraph 1 is not intended to inhibit the Village of Buffalo Grove or
the Village of Wheeling from exercising their legal options if, after
reasonable attempts, meetings are unable to be scheduled between the
respective Village Presidents, or their representatives. Such reasonable
time frame being 7 consecutive calendar days.
