RESOLUTION NO. 91- 63
A RESOLUTION CONCERNING CURRENT AND /OR PROSPECTIVE
LITIGATION BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE AND
THE VILLAGE OF LINCOLNSHIRE
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove through its history has
experienced lawsuits between itself and its neighbors; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is interested in fostering good
relations with the Village of Lincolnshire, and wishes to broaden and expand
its relations with the Village of Lincolnshire in the future;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD
OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE
COUNTIES, ILLINOIS that:
1. The Village of Buffalo Grove pledges in the future not to initiate
litigation with the Village of Lincolnshire until it has conducted one
meeting between the Village President of Buffalo Grove and the Village
President of Lincolnshire, or their representative, on the matter subject
to litigation, before filing such litigation, subject to the Village of
Lincolnshire passing a similar resolution pledging its intent to avoid
further litigation with the Village of Buffalo Grove without first
conferring with Buffalo Grove.
2. Paragraph 1 is not intended to inhibit the Village of Buffalo Grove or
the Village of Lincolnshire from exercising their legal options if, after
reasonable attempts, meetings are unable to be scheduled between the
respective Village Presidents, or their representatives. Such reasonable
time frame being 7 consecutive calendar days.
