RESOLUTION NO. 90- 47
A RESOLUTION OBJECTING TO THE REZONING OF THE
HERMAN R. AND FRANCES E. BOYD PROPERTY,
20421 N. WEILAND ROAD IN UNINCORPORATED LAKE COUNTY,
FROM THE NC /UR -2 DISTRICT TO THE SUBURBAN DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the.Boyd property, commonly known as 20421 N. Weiland Road, and
legally described as:
Lot 3 in Prairie View Acres, being a subdivision of part of the West
half of the Southeast Quarter of Section 33, Township 43 North, Range
11, East of the Third Principal Meridian, according to the plat thereof
recorded December 9, 1955, as Document 891499 in Book 1405 of records on
page 196 in Lake County, Illinois.
is currently zoned in the Neighborhood Conservation /Urban Residential -2
(NC /UR -2) District, and said zoning was determined by the Lake County Board
of Supervisors to be the appropriate zoning for this property and adjacent
properties when the County's comprehensive Zoning Ordinance amendment was
adopted on December 2, 1988; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed rezoning to the Suburban District of the Boyd
Property is inconsistent and incompatible with Lake County zoning and Village
of Buffalo Grove zoning in this area of Weiland Road; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed rezoning to the Suburban District would constitute
spot zoning and would permit numerous intensive commercial and industrial
uses and agricultural uses that would be incompatible with adjacent
residential areas and would create serious detrimental impacts including
traffic congestion, noise, and odors; and,
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove's Comprehensive Plan adopted on
August 18, 1986 designates the Boyd property and adjacent parcels along
Weiland Road for single - family residential use; and,

WHEREAS, the Village is implementing its Comprehensive Plan along
Weiland Road by approving residential uses such as the Amberleigh and
Woodstone developments; and,
WHEREAS, the approval of the proposed rezoning will encourage adjacent
property owners to request similar non - residential zoning which will be
disruptive to County and Village planning efforts and will be detrimental to
the residential character of Weiland Road.
WHEREAS, the Boyd property lies within 1 -1/2 miles of the limits of the
Village of Buffalo Grove, a zoned municipality; and,
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is a zoned municipality with
limits nearest adjacent to the Boyd property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS
THAT:
1. The foregoing Whereas clauses are hereby incorporated herein.
2. The Village of Buffalo Grove objects and protests to the proposed
rezoning from the NC /UR -2 District to the Suburban District of the Boyd
property, and the Village urges the Lake County Board to uphold the County's
current zoning along Weiland Road and to support the Village's Comprehensive
Plan for the Weiland Road corridor.
3. That the Village of Buffalo Grove hereby requests that the proposed
rezoning/ amendment shall only be passed, if at all, by an extraordinary
favorable vote of all the members of the County Board pursuant to statute in
such cases made.
