A Resolution Approving Conveyance of Real Property
to the Buffalo Grove Park District
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is a Home Rule Unit by virtue of the
provisions of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is the owner of certain parcels of real
property described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof; and
and
WHEREAS, the Village has no immediate use for said real property; and
WHEREAS, the real property is currently being used for the purposes of a bike path;
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the Village deem it to be in the public
interest to have said property put to public use by deeding same to the Buffalo Grove Park
District and their successors in office for the use and benefit of the public; and
WHEREAS, the Buffalo Grove Park District, has by Ordinance 12 -8 -1 declared that it is
necessary or convenient for it to use, occupy or improve said real estate; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. The foregoing Whereas clauses are hereby incorporated herein.
Section 2. Pursuant to its home rule authority and to the authority granted to
municipalities in Section 2 of the Local Government Property Transfer Act (50 ILCS 605/2),
the President and Clerk of the Village of Buffalo Grove are hereby authorized and directed to
execute a deed to the Buffalo Grove Park District and their successors in office for the use
and benefit of the public, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A ".
Section 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage by two - thirds of the trustees then holding office.
