A RESOLUTION APPROVING A CERTIFICATION STATEMENT FOR THE BORDEAUX
COURT BIKE PATH REHABILITATION GRANT APPLICATION THROUGH THE
ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES PROJECT RECREATIONAL
TRAILS PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is a Home Rule Unit pursuant to the Illinois
Constitution of 1970; and,
WHEREAS, the quality of life is enhanced by a good quality transportation system; and,
WHEREAS, the funding of construction and maintenance of a high quality transportation
system is most appropriately shared by several agencies of Federal, State and Local Government;
and,
WHEREAS, a Certification Statement is required to complete the Illinois Department of
Natural Resources Illinois Trails Grants -In -Aid Program Project Grant Application for FY 2014;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, as follows:
Section 1: The Certification Statement entitled "Recreational Trails Grant Programs,
State of Illinois /Department of Natural Resources, RT /DOC -5: Certification Statement"
related to the Bordeaux Court Bike Path Rehabilitation Project is hereby approved.
Section 2: The Village President is authorized and directed to act as Project Sponsor and
execute the Certification Statement. A copy of said Certification Statement is attached
hereto and made a part hereof.

Project Title: Bordeaux Ct. Bike Path Rehabilitation Project
As the individual duty designated to represent the Village of Buffalo Grove I do hereby certify that the information
(sponsor)
presented in this grant application is true and correct_ I do further certify that the project, if approved for funding, will be completed in accordance
with the provisions set forth in the Recreational Trails Grant Manual and that the Village of Buffalo Grove has
(sponsor)
the financial resources to initially fund 100% of the proposed project costs within the time frame imposed by the Department of Natural Resources
for project execution prior to receiving grant reimbursement. it is understood that proposed projects should be completed within the time frame
established in the project agreement. Failure to complete said project within the specified hme frame could be cause for project termination. In
addition, failure to complete a project or withdrawal of a project due to lack of performance, insufficient funds or change in recreation priorities by
the applicant shall result in the ineligibility of the project applicant for Illinois DNR grant assistance consideration in the next two (2) consecutive grant
cycles.
The Village of Buffalo Grove hereby further certifies that 1) it will indemnify, protect and hold harmless the State of Illinois,

Department of Natural Resources and its representatives from any and all liabilities, costs, damages or claims arising as a direct or indirect result
of the actions and/or omissions of the Village of Buffalo Grove or its representatives in the construction, operation or
(sponsor)
maintenance of the above referenced project. and 2) that adequate public notice was given and local approval solicited on the proposed project
and 3) that the facility will be operated and maintained in an attractive and safe manner, and open and available to the public without regard to race,
color, sex, national origin, age, disability or place of residence in accordance with provisions of Illinois DNR trail grant program regulations.
This Certification Statement was duty acted upon and adopted by the Village of Buffalo Grove on the 18th day
