A RESOLUTION COMMENDING COMMANDER MARK W. BUCALO
FOR SERVICE TO THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, 1984 — 2010
WHEREAS, Mark Bucalo began his career with the Buffalo Grove Police Department as
a sworn police officer on September 1, 1984; and
WHEREAS, Mark Bucalo served in a variety of positions including Patrol Officer, Field
Training Officer, Firearms Officer, Corporal, Sergeant, Accreditation Manager,
Commander; and
WHEREAS, Commander Bucalo has received awards and recognition for outstanding
police work including numerous commendations, honorable mentions and unit citations;
and
WHEREAS, Commander Bucalo was the recipient of the Northwestern University
Center for Public Safety Executive Leadership Award; and
WHEREAS, Commander Bucalo devoted much of his career to the development and
implementation of technology that enhanced the department's effectiveness; and
WHEREAS, Commander Bucalo has served the Department, Village, and State with
integrity, character and professionalism for 26 years.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Buffalo Grove that our best wishes go to Mark Bucalo in his retirement
effective November 1, 2010.
