WHEREAS, Robert E. Leake Jr. began his career with the Buffalo Grove Police
Department as a sworn officer on February 10, 1978; and
WHEREAS, Robert E. Leake Jr. was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on
August 24, 1992; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Robert Leake Jr. served in a variety of positions including:
Patrol Officer, Traffic Specialist, Investigator, Patrol Sergeant, Department sketch
artist; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Robert E. Leake Jr. was one of the first investigators
chosen for the Lake County Major Crime Task Force and was instrumental in the
development of the program; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Robert E. Leake Jr. has received numerous awards and
recognitions including being selected as his recruit Class President, two Unit
Citations, one department commendation, seven honorable mentions, the Cook
County Award of Merit, Officer of the Year in 2003, graduating from the FBI
National Academy 178 session; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Robert E. Leake Jr. served the Department, Village, State
and Community with integrity, character dedication, and professionalism for over
29 years.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Buffalo Grove, Cook and Lake Counties, IL, that the Village of
Buffalo Grove honors Sergeant Robert E. Leake, Jr. for his service to the Village
of Buffalo Grove.
