Subject: Buffalo Grove - Buffalo Creek Erosion Control Improvements
Dear Greg:
Erosion control measures are needed along the banks of Buffalo Creek in order to
reduce damage to the golf course and improve aesthetics. The Village's first priority
is to control erosion at/or near four to five bridges throughout the course and then
focus on improving segmental portions in greatest need along the Creek.
The Baxter & Woodman team will provide the Village with a design that will co>trol
erosion along the bridges and banks while also allowing for visibility and everyday
golfer use. The design will also be easily maintained, have the ability to attract/
detract wildlife, and blend into the existing established landscape.
The following proposal outlines the scope of services and engineering fee for this
project:
Scope of Services
■ Conduct topographic survey of Buffalo Creek within the limits of the Buffalo
Grove Golf Course.
■ Prepare preliminary plans including alternatives for erosion control. We will
utilize the most cost effective combination of vegetative, biotechnical, and
hard -bank stabilization methods in order to regrade and stabilize the eroded
banks. Biotechnical and vegetative methods that will be considered include
native plantings, A- hacks, bio- fabrics, and hydra- seeding. Hard -bank stabili-
zation that will be considered includes gabion baskets and landscaping stones.
