COMMENDING ADLAI E. STEVENSON HIGH SCHOOL
DISTRICT 125 SUPERINTENDENT RICHARD DUFOUR
FOR RECEIPT OF THE VAN MILLER DISTINGUISHED
SCHOLAR PRACTICIONER AWARD
e! WHEREAS, Adlai E. Stevenson High School District 125 Superintendent Richard DuFour has been V
named this year's recipient of the Van Miller Distinguished Scholar Practitioner Award, and
WHEREAS, Dr. DuFour is only the fourth Illinois school superintendent to receive the award, which
honors people who have made outstanding contributions to education in Illinois through their scholarship,
actions and leadership, and
WHEREAS, Dr. DuFour is considered one of America's leading experts on school reform, having guided
Stevenson into national prominence as its principal (1983 -91) and superintendent (1991 - current), and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS THAT:
