\� RESOLUTION 2000 - 33
COMMENDING BRIAN RUBIN
FOR SERVICE TO THE VILLAGE AS A
MEMBER AND CHAIRMAN OF THE
COMMISSION FOR RESIDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
WHEREAS, Brian Rubin has a personal, professional and public commitment to addressing the concerns
of persons with disabilities, and
WHEREAS, Brian was the founder of the Village of Buffalo Grove Commission for Residents with
Disabilities as a Blue Ribbon Committee in 1991, and
WHEREAS, Brian served as Trustee Liaison to that Commission since its official establishment in 1992
and throughout his tenure as a Village Trustee, and was appointed Chair of the Commission in 1999, and
WHEREAS, Brian has made significant contributions to that Commission in his roles as founder, Trustee
Liaison, and Chair, during which time the Commission addressed concerns of local citizens as well as the
formative and comprehensive issues concerned with the Americans With Disabilities Act, and
WHEREAS, the Commission was recognized with an Award from the National Organization on
Disabilities and began to emerge as a strong regional leader in the causes of persons with disabilities
during Brian's tenure and association with the Commission, and
WHEREAS, Brian must now concentrate his efforts in his other roles and responsibilities related to
service to the community and the causes for persons with disabilities
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS THAT:
1. Brian Rubin is commended and honored on behalf of the citizens of Buffalo Grove for his
excellent service to the Village as a member of the Commission for Residents with
Disabilities and as Chairman of the Commission.
