Churchill Lane Subdivision - Bike and Path
Removal
WHEREAS the Churchill Lane Subdivision is improved with single-family
homes, Churchill Park, as well as associated bike paths, bridges, and open space; and
WHEREAS in 1988, the Village Board approved Ordinance No. 1988-023
granting a preliminary plan for Churchill Lane Subdivision, including a dedication of
a strip of land along the south edge of the ComEd right-of-way, north of the
subdivision, to the Buffalo 6rove Park District for a bike path and bridge; and
WHEREAS the Buffalo Crove Park District is the owner of this strip of land
along the south edge of the ComEd right-of-way, north of the subdivision; and
WHEREAS the Buffalo Crove Park District requests a minor amendment to
the preliminary plan in order to allow removal of the bridge and bike path due to the
location and maintainability in a floodplain; and
WHEREAS the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Buffalo Crove hereby
determine and find that the requested amendment to the preliminary plan is
reasonable and will serve the best interests of the Village.
NOW THEREFORE BE lT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Buffalo Crove, Cook and Lake Counties, lllinois, as follows:
SECTION l. The foregoing recitals are hereby adopted and incorporated and made a
part of this Ordinance as if fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2. The Corporate Authorities hereby adopt a proper, valid, and binding
ordinance approving an amendment to the preliminary plan, approved by
Ordinance No.'1988-023 to allow the Buffalo Crove Park District to remove the bike
path and bridge following proper Engineering review and permitting.
WHEREAS the Village of Buffalo Crove is a home rule unit pursuant to the
lllinois Constitution of l97O; and

SECTION 3. lf any section, paragraph, clause or provision of this Ordinance shall be
held invalid, the invalidity thereof shall not affect any other provision of this
Ordinance.
