WHEREAS the Village of Buffalo Crove is a home rule unit pursuant to the
lllinois Constitution of .l970; and
WHEREAS the Village of Buffalo Crove has experienced a high level of
property tax collections f rom its residential and commercial property in Lake County
as verif ied by audit and collection procedures; and
WHEREASthe Countyof Lake hasmade ita policy to extend add itional
amounts over and above the annual tax lely requests of the Village of Buffalo C rove
in order to offset any loss in collection of the tax levy; and
WHEREAS those additional taxes will not be needed by the Village of Buffalo
Crove to perform its operational, pension and debt service responsibilities to its
citizens.
NOW THEREFORE BE lT RESOLVED bythe President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Buffalo Crove, Cook and Lake Counties, lllinois, as follows:
SECTION l. The foregoing recitals are hereby adopted and incorporated and made a
part of this Resolution as if fullysetforth herein.
SECTION 2. The County Clerk of Lake County is hereby directed not to levy the
customary percentage amounts for loss and collection as part of the extension of
those levies requested by the Village of Buffalo Crove in its 2025 Tax Levy Ordinance
upon all taxable property within the Lake County boundaries of the Village.
SECTION 3. The Village Clerk is hereby directed to send a certified copy of this
Resolution to the County Clerk of Lake County.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval.
