2025-05-21 - Farmer's Market Committee - MinutesMINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE FARMERS MARKET COMMITTEE HELD AT VILLAGE HALL - TRUSTEE CONFERENCE ROOM - MAIN LEVEL FIFTY RAUPP BLVD BUFFALO GROVE, IL 60089-2139, WEDNESDAY, MAY 21, 2025 CALL TO ORDER In attendance: Paulette Greenberg (PG), Ed Muldoon (EM), Jackie Beegun (JB), Jane Primack (JP), Larry King (LK), Mindy Lazor (ML), Greg Sauser (GS), Steve McClelland (SM), David Bergman (DB), Kevin Richards (KR), Maanasha Sankareswari-Ramesh (MSR), Ramesh Narayanasamy (RN) Call to Order: 7:03 PM APPROVAL OF MINUTES Approval of Minutes: JP made a motion to approve the minutes of 4/15/25, LK 2nd. Minutes approved unanimously. DISCUSSION OF FOOD VENDORS 1. Approved most of the vendors whose applications have been received. The balance was approved conditionally. LK made the motions and JP seconded them. Passed. The applications of those vendors who were not approved fell under the same motions as above. 2. Still awaiting multiple vendor applications to arrive for approval. Calls/applications were resent by EM this morning. DISCUSSION OF OTHER VENDORS A. Business of the week Business of the Week: Chiro One 3x/week. Have not heard from Dignity. LK suggested we decrease BOW to 2x/year rather than the 3x we currently offer. Will discuss at end of this season. B. Not-For-Profits Not for Profit: Filling up quickly. Only 7 spots remain. No new NFP applications received. C. Entertainment Musical Entertainment – All weeks booked. Increased monetary renumeration to $35/week DISCUSSION OF GIVEAWAYS PG provided additional suggestions. PG made a motion to purchase 25 sheet/notepads as we’ve had in the past. JP seconded the motion. Passed unanimously. PROMOTIONS 1. PG went to the new Wild Fork – they might be interested in bringing tote bags on opening day of the market for their promotion. Awaiting call back with confirmation or decline. 2. Awaiting call back from Home Depot for possible distribution of craft items as they have provided in the past. 3. BGFM was supposed to be mentioned in the Sun Times and on WBEZ however it was not. PG following up with them. DISCUSSION OF COVERAGE AND VACATION SCHEDULES Discussion of coverage and vacations: Those who have vacations planned identified their dates. Team A and B identified PUBLIC PORTION Public Portion: Fire Department Fund Raiser on 6/28 – they will use their own garbage service/ dumpster. FM weeks 8/3 (raffle week) so bring baskets and 8/10. Next Meeting: Pre-Market meeting, Thursday, 6/12 at 7 pm at trailer. Public Works will move trailer 6/2. ADJOURNMENT LK made a motion to adjourn at 7:49, DB 2nd, Meeting Adjourned
