CALL TO ORDER
Present: Mike Garfield, Beckie Bergman, Karleen Pitchford, Doug Pitchford, Debi Moritz,
Nisha Patalay
Also: Kevin Richards, Greg Sauser
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
• Beckie moved to approve the minutes.
• Doug seconded
• Passed unanimously
PROGRAM UPDATES
• Vitalant lost one of their drivers so there will be no blood drive bus at the
fairgrounds of BG Days this year.
• Discussed a different blood drive at Alcott put on by the Red Cross.
Discussed another blood drive hosted by Culvers
BOOTH AT THE FARMERS MARKET DISCUSSION
• No one is available for the 17th. Farmers Market will be contacted to open it to a
different vendor.
• All commissioners are available for the 24th. Nisha is checking schedule.
UPCOMING BLOOD DRIVE SCHEDULE
• 1st shift: Beckie, Nisha
• 2nd shift: Deb, Karleen
• 3rd shift: Mike, Doug
HEALTH COMMISSION GOALS
• Kevin referred to the original code of reference of the Health Commission. He
would like to open up discussions with the commission about coordinating with the
other blood drives in the area to help promote each other and keep visibility high
for all organizations.
• Also discussed getting more involved with health decisions and programs that
affect Buffalo Grove residents.
PUBLIC PORTION
• Doug would like to see if we can get the BG Singers involved in the newsletter as
well. This year is the BG Singers 30th anniversary and they are doing 30 acts of
kindness encouraging others to also donate blood
