PLAN
WHEREAS, the development of a htgh quallty regtonal
transportat{on aysten is recogntzed as being essenttal to the qualtty of
llfe tn the Ch{cago netropolttan areal and,
IflIEREAS, the Chtcago Area Transportatton Study organtzatlon has
conptled a draft of the rr20l0 Transportatton Systen Developm€nt Plan" dated
November, 1988; and,
WIIEREAS, CATS has obtatned lnput from numerous tndtvtduals and
agenctea whtch has been used tn the preparatlon of the r'2010 Transportat{on
Systen Development Planrr; and,
WIIEREAS, the Vtllage of Buffalo Grovers Presldent and Board of
Truateea have revlewed varlous elemente of the draft plan and wlsh to
convey thetr support for the plan and those elenents of {t vhtch
parttcularly beneftt the reatdents and buslnesses in the Buffalo Grove
area;
NoW, THEREFoRE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Vlllage Prestdent and
Board of Trustees of the Vtllage of Buffalo Grove, Cook and Lake Counties,
Illlnol s as followg:
1. The draft '12010 Transportatton Systen Developnent P1an" dated
November, 1988 ts supported.
2, The Lake-W1ll Expressrray North ( FAP 432) - ProJect #058 whlch would
extetrd the Route #53 freeway north from Lake-Cook Road to I1ltno{s
Route /1120 and then exteud along ll1tno{e Route /i120 to the Trt-State
Tollway (I-94) ts strongly supported. The acqui.sttton of all
right-of-way requtred for thts project should be accoapltshed as soon
as posslble to tnsure the feasibtllty of thl.s project.

7 new Btatlons and run 17 ntles along the Wisconstn Central tracks
frorn Mundeletn to Des Platnes and then v{a the CNW-Northrrest ltne
to the CBD ts strongly supported.
The Mtddle Ctrcrrferenttal Corridor-ProJ ect #84 whtch wtll extend
37 ntles, runnlng along Lake-Cook Road lrest froo US41 to an
altgnEent to be tdenttfted tn the future, generally lylng between
Ill-lnots Route /183 and Illinots Route /153, then extendlng south
through Northweat Cook County and Esst-Central DuPage County along
thts altgnnent to the Burllngton Northern ltne ls strongly
supported for further study.
The Vtllage Manager ts directed to transm{t a copy of thta
resolution to CATS, METRA and the I1llnols DepartEent of
Transportatton.
