1988-08-01 - Resolution 1988-42 - PROVIDING INPUT REGARDING THE LAKE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION PLAN DEVELOPMENT PROCESSRESOLUTION NO. 88. 42 A RESOLUTION PROVIDING INPUT REGARDiNG THE LAKE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION PLAN DEVELOPMENT PROCESS WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove supports the development of a high quality transportation system, both within the Village and throughout the region in order to effectively accormodate the transportation needs of area residents and businessesi and, I,IHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove independently retained an expert engineering firm to evaluate traffic conditions and to identify needed highway transportation improvements in the comprehensive planning area of the Village of Buffalo Grove. The results of which study were previously transmitted to the Lake County Superintendent of Highways in a report entitled: "Village of Buffalo Grove Transportation PIan" dated June 27,1987a and, WHEREAS, the Lake County Superintendent of Highways reviewed the results of a recent Lake County analysis of various alternative highway improvements at the Buffalo Grove Village Board meeting held on July 11, 1988 and has requested formal input regarding the opinion of the VilIage of Buffalo Grove regarding the Village's preferences regarding alternate highway improvements; and, ITHEREAS, an expert engineering firm which was retained by the Village of Buffalo Grove to review the Lake Count-v Highway Department's analysis has found that the analysis is in very close agreement with the Village of Buffalo Grove's Transportation Plan; 1 NOt.l, THEREF0RE, BE IT RES0LVED, by the Vi11age President and Board of Trustees of the Vlllage of Buffalo Grove, Lake and Cook Counties, Il I inois as follows: The memorandum report prepared by James J. Benes and Associates, Inc. "Re: Project #320.44-Lake County 2005 Highway Improvement Planning Study Review" is hereby accepted and incorporated as part of Buffalo Grove's input into the Lake County Transportation planning process. A copy of said memorandum report is attached hereto and made a part hereof. Due to the critical importance of the need to irnmediately reserve right-of-way for the Illinois Route 53 freeway extension fron Lake-Cook Road to Townline Road (lllinois Route 120), Lake County is urged to take all necessary independent and cooperative action to promptly reserve and acquire al1 right-of-way required for this freeway. Since the right-of-way acquisition for Deerfield Road extending west of l''lilwaukee Avenue approximately 3,200 feet is critical at this time in order to insure the completion of the Busch Road and Deerfield Road Corridor, Lake County is urged to take all steps necessary to promptly acquire this right-of-way. Lake County is also urged to study modifying the alignment of tleiland Road and Prairie Road so as to accomplish a continuous alignment of these road between Lake-Cook Road and U.S. Route 45.
